Creamy Lemon Garlic Crab-Quick Holiday Meal

The holidays are always so wonderfully busy-shopping, wrapping presents, decorating, shuffling to and fro from this party or that family members home. I always find that the already narrow window of time for me to make a wholesome meal for my family shrinks considerably during this time of year.

Instead of ordering takeout (yet again), I’ve hoarded an arsenal of quick, easy and delicious meals that can be prepared in 30 minutes or less. The recipe for this creamy lemon garlic crab pasta is a family favorite, a frequent request, that even allows me to sneak in a little of the ‘green stuff’ from my veggie-phobic husband.

Stocking up. During the winter months, Cameron’s Seafood quick freezes their crab meat, locking in the freshness, for year round enjoyment. This comes in handy while thinking through meal planning. When I know that I have a busy week ahead, I’ll pull my crab meat to thaw in the refrigerator and within a day or two it is ready for all of my dinner-making enjoyment.

Creamy Lemon Garlic Crab-Quick Holiday Meal

Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 20 minutes
Total Time 25 minutes
Servings 4 people

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 garlic cloves peeled and minced
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/2 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1/2 cup half and half full fat or low fat
  • 1 cup spinach chopped baby spinach or thawed and drained frozen spinach
  • 1 cup Cameron’s Seafood Jumbo Lump Crab Meat thawed
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cups cooked linguine or spaghetti noodles
  • 1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil chopped

  1. Melt butter over medium high heat in a large skillet. Sauté garlic for 2-3 minutes and deglaze pan with white wine.

  2. Whisk butter and wine together and bring to a simmer cooking for 2-3 minutes. Reduce heat to medium and add in lemon juice, lemon zest, half & half and spinach. Stir, cover and cook until spinach has wilted, slightly (about 5 minutes).

  3. Carefully stir in Cameron’s Jumbo Lump Crab Meat, being careful not to break up the lumps, cover and cook for an additional 5 minutes or until the crab meat is hot.

  4. Season with salt and pepper and toss mixture with cooked noodles. Serve your creamy lemon garlic crab pasta hot and sprinkled with shredded parmesan and chopped basil.
