Christmas Traditions with Cameron’s Seafood

We find that there is no better Christmas Meal than one prepared using our very special products. Everyone here at Cameron’s Seafood celebrates the holidays with Maryland Seafood! Cameron Manesh, our fearless leader, becomes a seafood Santa bringing big bags of King Crab Legs to his neighbors. Mimi, our online maven, packs coolers on her ‘sleigh’ filled with Crab Cakes to her family in Canada. Even Stephan, our store manager of 25 years, get’s his name at the top of the nice list (and some extra time under the mistletoe) by bringing Lobsters home to his wife.

Christmas Eve Dinner

Appetizers:

While guests and family arrive, have a nibble or two waiting for them. I love making crab themed crostini (toasted and topped baguette slices) for Christmas Eve appetizers. My favorite would have to be Crab and Avocado. I simply mash the avocado with a little lime juice, chopped cilantro and salt before spreading onto my toasted baguette slices. I then top those with a quick toss of Jumbo Lump Crab Meat with a little lime juice, smoky chipotle hot sauce, olive oil, salt, minced garlic and halved cherry tomatoes.

Entree:

If you’re inspired by Mimi and her family’s tradition of having Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes for Christmas, I highly recommend it! These are exceptionally delicious and come with easy to follow cooking instructions, perfect for a Christmas Eve entree option! I like serving my crab cakes with a roasted vegetable medley of brussel sprouts, corn and tomatoes and some garlicky mashed potatoes (yum!).

Christmas Day Brunch

Easy Egg Dish:

 

Christmas Day is always a hustle, I find that having an easy brunch option is the best route for a successful morning. I love Stephan’s lobster tradition and there couldn’t be a more perfect option for Christmas Day brunch than Lobster Frittata. I whisk my eggs and fold in our Lobster Meat (it comes already cooked!) with asparagus and a little crumble of soft goat cheese-bake and eat-an instant crowd pleaser.

 

Create your own Omelets:

Omelets are the perfect traditional Christmas recipe for busy Christmas mornings and having family customize their own is a great way to involve everyone in breakfast making. I like setting out the usual filling options; cheddar cheese, bacon, ham, onions, peppers, tomatoes and spinach plus Lobster Meat and Jumbo Lump Crab Meat. I’ll have a large batch of pre-whisked eggs with a ladle so everyone can portion and create till their hearts content. It will get messy but it will be fun (we always have a ton of laughs). Some tips for keeping the chaos to a minimum… have a few small non-stick pans available and have your family clean their pan after using it and pass it along to the next family member. Have them come up in stages (if you have a large family) and make sure the kiddies are attended or helped. Lastly, have some pastries or baked goods available so no one ‘goes hungry’ waiting for their turn.
