PRODUCT QUESTIONS

Where do you get your crabs from?

All of our crabs come from the Chesapeake Bay. Since the crabs are constantly migrating, we have to deal with a all the major crabbers around the Bay (Crisfield, Cambridge and Point Lookout primarily, and many more).

When is the best time for crabs?

Maryland Blue Crabs are available from April 15th through October 15th. Generally speaking the crabs get bigger towards the end of the season (September – October.) However, crab density is mostly influenced by their individual molting cycle: crabs tend to be at their heaviest right before they molt.

How do you determine crab prices?

The crab market prices are driven by supply and demand. Our crabbers give us prices every morning and we will update our website accordingly. However, if you see a price you like on our website you may order in advance for delivery on a future date.

How many crabs are in one bushel?

A bushel is not determined by a quantity but it refers to filling up the volume of a bushel basket. For example, the larger the crabs means it takes less to fill up a bushel. Online, we guarantee the minimum quantity of crabs and the minimum weight of the crabs. You always keep the surplus and never get shorted! See our Online Crab Guarantee.

How are your crab cakes made?

By hand. All of our crab cakes and made by hand every morning in each of our store locations. We only use real Maryland Blue Crab meat and mix it with some our signature filler. YES, all our crab cakes have some filler because a crab cake needs cake and it is very good.

Do we have the lowest prices online?

Yes. We guarantee to have the lowest prices (with shipping) vs. our competitors, who typically have packaging, extra shipping, and hidden fees.

ONLINE STORE QUESTIONS

I just placed an order, what happens next?

You should receive a confirmation email shortly after placing your order. The morning of your delivery we carefully pack your items and prepare the package for our daily FedEx pickup. Once the package is on the way we’ll email you a shipping confirmation with a tracking number. Your package will arrive within 1-2 days depending on the shipping method you’ve selected.

How do you ship fresh seafood?

All our seafood is packed in with top-of-the-line biodegradable gel packs, cutting edge Thermo Chill™ insulated foam containers within a corrugated box. Our internal testing allows us to keep your seafood between 34 and 37 degrees during delivery.

Can I cancel or modify my order?

Yes. Please notify us by phone or email at least 24 hours before your order is scheduled to ship.

My order has been damaged or has some items missing.

If your order is damaged or is missing some items please notify us by phone or email as soon as possible.

What's your return and refunds policy?

If you have any issue with your perishable product shipment you must contact us as soon as possible. Due to the perishable nature of our products, they cannot be returned. We will gladly refund or replace a package that was not delivered or was delivered in bad condition. The best way to do this is to send an email to customer service at contact@cameronsseafood.com with your first and last name, your order number and a short description of the issue and pictures if applicable.

Can I select a future delivery date?

Yes. You’ll be asked to select your delivery date at checkout. You will be notified by email if we need to change your delivery date for any reason. Keep in mind that there are no deliveries on Sundays and that Saturday deliveries will incur a $15 surcharge.

Why are the online prices different from the store prices ?

We offer a premium perishable delivery service through our online store, with quantity and weight online crab guarantee, therefore our online prices will typically be higher than the retail store prices. However, our online prices are the lowest on the market. Many stores advertise low prices but often the packaging and shipping costs end up being greater than the total product cost. Not only is our product cost low but our shipping rates are some of the most competitive and we don’t charge any extra fees for packaging!
