Our Favorite Seafood Pizzas

October is National Pizza Month! For those solicitors of slices, proprietors of pies, and maniacs of melty mozz, we’ve curated some of our all-time favorite seafood pizzas. Fire up those ovens, friends. It’s time to make some pizza! 

 

 

White Clam Pizza 

Frank Pepe’s of New Haven Connecticut has been slinging coal-fired white clam pizzas for decades. This clam pizza has gained so much fanfare that it currently sits at the #1 slot for best pizza in America! Wow! If you happen to have a pizza stone, this is a great time to use it (just be sure to preheat the stone in the oven before baking). 

White Clam Pizza

Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 10 minutes
Servings 4 people

Ingredients

  • lb. frozen pizza dough thawed
  • 1 lb. Clams thawed and picked (discard shells)
  • 3 garlic cloves peeled and minced
  • 1/4 cup cooked bacon chopped
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 cup grated pecorino
  • pinch of dried oregano crushed red pepper flakes, and black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 475°F. Stretch the pizza dough into a 12’’ circle.
  2. Sprinkle the dough with clam meat, garlic, and bacon.
  3. Drizzle the pizza with olive oil, top with cheese, and season with spices (oregano, red pepper flakes, and black pepper).
  4. Carefully transfer the pizza to the oven (using a baking sheet or pizza stone) and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the pizza is golden and crisp.

 

Lobster Roll Pizza 

Lobster roll and pizza!? Could it get anymore delicious? If you’re a fan of that iconic New England sandwich, you have to give this version a try! Again, pizza stone preferred.  

Lobster Roll Pizza

Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese softened
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 3 garlic cloves peeled and minced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped chives plus extra for garnish
  • 2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon celery seeds
  • 1/2 lb. Lobster Meat thawed and chopped
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 475°F. Stretch the pizza dough into a 12’’ circle.
  2. Place cream cheese, mayo, garlic, chives, lemon juice, and celery seeds in a medium bowl, and stir to combine.
  3. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the dough and top with lobster meat and mozzarella.
  4. Carefully transfer the pizza to the oven (using a baking sheet or pizza stone) and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the pizza is golden and crisp.
  5. Garnish with chives before slicing and serving.

 

Shrimp Scampi Pizza 

When California Pizza Kitchen burst onto the stage, their unusual pizza toppings we’re seen as uber unique. CPK has been credited with giving us such avant-garde pizzas creations, like bbq chicken, chipotle, carne asada, and shrimp scampi.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. frozen pizza dough thawed
  • 1/2 lb. Fresh Shrimp peeled and chopped
  • 3 tablespoons salted butter melted
  • 3 garlic cloves peeled and minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • pinch of crushed red pepper flakes and oregano
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 2 tablespoons grated pecorino
  • 1/2 cup baby arugula

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 475°F. Stretch the pizza dough into a 12’’ circle.
  2. Place shrimp, butter, garlic, lemon juice, and herbs (crushed red pepper flakes and oregano) in a medium bowl, and toss to coat.
  3. Spoon seasoned shrimp over the crust and sprinkle with mozzarella and pecorino.
  4. Carefully transfer the pizza to the oven (using a baking sheet or pizza stone) and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the pizza is golden and crisp.
  5. Top finished pizza with baby arugula before slicing and serving.

 

Maryland Crab Pizza 

If anyone has been to Baltimore’s Inner Harbor you might have seen a few restaurants and pizza shops offering their version of a Maryland-style Crab Pizza. Bring that iconic Maryland flavor home with this tasty recipe. 

Maryland Crab Pizza

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. frozen pizza dough thawed
  • 1/2 lb. Jumbo Lump Crab Meat
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 3 garlic cloves peeled and minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon chopped chives plus extra for garnish
  • 2 teaspoons Old Bay Seasoning
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 2 tablespoons grated pecorino

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 475°F. Stretch the pizza dough into a 12’’ circle.
  2. Place crab meat, butter, garlic, lemon juice, chives, and Old Bay in a medium bowl, and gently toss to combine.
  3. Spoon seasoned crab over the crust and sprinkle with mozzarella and pecorino.
  4. Carefully transfer the pizza to the oven (using a baking sheet or pizza stone) and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the pizza is golden and crisp.
  5. Garnish with chives before slicing and serving.
