Our Favorite Seafood Sandwiches

There is nothing better than a really good sandwich! And through our seafood travels we’ve scarfed on quite a few.

Here we’ve rounded up 10 of our favorite restaurants serving some of the best seafood sandwiches in the country.

Check them out…

Lobster Rolls (The Clam Shack, ME)

Located right on the main drive in Kennebunkport, Maine is The Clam Shack. Now, we know, the name might signify that clams are the most popular dish on the menu…but, gratefully, it’s their lobster rolls.

Heaps and heaps of chunky lobster meat (1lb per roll!!!), drenched in butter and a little squeezy of lemon…What more do you need? (Beer, of course).

Exceptional quality lobster is the necessary ingredient for these iconic rolls. If you want to recreate this be sure to grab our Lobster Meat (caught from the same waters as The Clam Shack).

Shrimp Po’ Boy (Domilise’s Po’Boy & Bar, LA)

Shimp Po’Boy sandwiches are the must have sando in New Orleans, and none as well revered as Domilise’s. This little off the beaten path shop is nostalgic (wood paneled walls and everything) and delicious. Serving generations of hungry local patrons and tourists alike. There’s always a queue. A massive french roll is stuffed to the brim with fried shrimp and filled (called ‘fully dressed’) ketchup, mayo, pickles and shredded lettuce.

Make it at Home…

Fresh Gulf shrimp make for the best po’boys and our fresh jumbo shrimp are just that!

Crab Cake Sandwich (Coppa, Boston)

No disrespect to our MD roots, but this sandwich is incredible! Unlike the typical crab cake sandwiches (albeit, delicious), Coppa flips the script with a grilled cheese version! Crab cakes are griddled flat and filled inside two thick slices of sourdough bread with classic American cheese, pickles and a little hot sauce~perfecto!

Our Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes are perfect for recreating this tasty sandwich.

Fried Fish Sandwich (Parson’s Chicken & Fish, Chicago)

It’s not often that you hear that the land of hot dogs and beef sandwiches also makes a radical fish too! And Parson’s Fish Sandwich is aces! A thick cod fillet is beer battered golden and crispy, then topped with slaw, American cheese, hot sauce, aioli and pickles! Simple and fantastic.

Make it at Home…

Our Alaskan Cod Fillets are a perfect match, although our Rockfish might just become our new favorite for recreating this sandwich.

Soft Shell Crab Sandwich (Mirabelle, DC)

An upscale addition to our sandwich list, Mirabelle in DC. This French Bistro pulls from local ingredients for culinary inspiration and, when in season, the softies are exceptional.

Served as sliders, these soft shell crab minis are pan fried crisp and topped with spicy garlic pickles and house-made tartar sauce.

Make it at Home…

Only the best soft shell crabs come from the Chesapeake Bay and we are in stock.

Tuna Burger (Gotts Roadside, CA)

The scenery and the grub are all fantastic at Gotts, this roadside dining destination in Napa Valley California. Their tuna ‘burger’ is totally Cali-fusion and wickedly delicious. Seared rare tuna steak is topped with ginger wasabi mayo, Asian slaw and cilantro…all served on a toasted buttery roll.

 Make it at Home…

An awesome sandwich needs awesome ingredients and our 8oz tuna steaks are perfect for this re-make.

Salmon Sandwich (Market Grill, WA)

The iconic Pike Place market can certainly work up an appetite. And that’s where the Market Grill (located inside the market) fits the bill. We love love love their Salmon Sandwich. Grilled salmon (that’s been rubbed generously with blacken seasoning) topped with a citrusy rosemary mayo, roasted onions, lettuce and tomato ~all filled into a crisp-soft baguette.

Make it at Home…

We may be on the other side of the country but there’s no lacking in good quality salmon.

The Oyster Peacemaker (Mahony’s, LA)

Yes, yes, yes…there’s two sandwich locations representing the great state of Louisiana on this list, we’re aware. What can we say? They make really good sandos!

The Oyster Peacemaker itself is not a ‘new’ sandwich, the story behind it is pretty fun (and, I wont spoil it for you if you plan on visiting Mahony’s) but Mahony’s makes one killer version… Fried oysters are topped with bacon and cheddar cheese (which can also be topped with lettuce, tomato, pickles and remoulade). Woooooweeeee!

 Make it at Home…

Gulf oyster are pretty good, Virginia oyster are really really good. And a perfect substitution for this sandwich remake.

Smoky Fried Catfish Sandwich (Buxton Hall, NC)

This super fun and oozing with cool BBQ joint in Asheville serves mean catfish sandwich. The catfish is deep fried and lathered in a spicy smoky BBQ mop before being topped with bread & butter pickles, tartar sauce, American cheese, lettuce and tomato~fantastic!

 Make it at Home…

A good southern sandwich deserves a good southern catfish!

Clam Roll (Clam Box, MA)

Clams are a way of life in Ipswich Mass! This iconic roadside clam shack has been serving up their signature fried clam rolls since 1938. The sandwiches are simple…bun and fried clams with a side of coleslaw and fresh cut fries. The queues are long but the wait is well worth it!

Make it at Home…

Our top-neck clams are sweet and salty, perfect for shucking and frying!
